A trial attorney for more than 30 years, W. Paul Otten practices in the areas of personal injury and criminal defense. He represents individuals and families who have suffered a significant personal injury or the loss of a loved one; including those involved in automobile collisions, medical malpractice claims, slip and fall cases and dog attacks. Paul Otten has achieved major awards for his personal injury clients, both through negotiated settlements and jury trials. Since the establishment of Otten Law firm, criminal defense was added to the foundation in personal injury.
Education
A native of northern Minnesota, Paul Otten received his Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from the William Mitchell College of Law, St. Paul, Minn. Earlier he received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Minnesota, Duluth.
Service, Recognition
Paul Otten speaks regularly at professional seminars and continuing legal education programs for attorneys. He has gained considerable professional recognition, including his selection by his peers as a Leading American Attorney. He has been named an Arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association and an Arbitrator approved by the Minnesota Supreme Court. Martindale-Hubbell awarded Paul Otten its highest rating.

Active in professional associations, Paul Otten is a member of the American Association for Justice, the Minnesota Association for Justice, the Minnesota State Bar Association, the First Judicial District Bar Association and the Dakota County Bar Association. He also serves on the Ethics Committee for the First Judicial District (Dakota and Goodhue Counties).
